About the Role
Morris Technology Solutions (MTS) is seeking a Lab Services Coordinator with a focus on Point of Care (POC) testing to support one of our healthcare partners in the greater New York metro area. This role is fully on-site and will span multiple clinical settings. The ideal candidate brings a strong background in laboratory operations, quality compliance, and hands-on experience managing POC workflows.
As a liaison between lab operations, nursing teams, and IT, you'll play a critical role in supporting decentralized testing while ensuring data integrity, compliance, and seamless communication across departments.

Key Responsibilities
- Manage daily point-of-care testing across inpatient and outpatient settings, ensuring adherence to regulatory standards (NYSDOH, CLIA, CAP)
- Review patient test results, quality control logs, and equipment maintenance records for accuracy and compliance
- Lead instrument troubleshooting, maintenance coordination, and vendor interactions as needed
- Conduct training and education on new testing procedures for clinical staff across multiple departments
- Collaborate with nursing, laboratory, and IT teams to align workflows and implement system changes
- Travel between on-site lab environments, requiring frequent movement between work areas and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Operate and calibrate lab instrumentation using fine motor skills and visual acuity to assess detailed readings and results
- Follow hospital safety protocols and infection control standards, including routine handling of biohazard materials
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology or related science
- Active New York State Clinical Laboratory Technologist license
- Minimum 2 years of experience supporting or coordinating Point of Care Testing in a hospital or clinical lab
- Strong knowledge of quality control procedures, laboratory safety, and compliance standards
- Familiarity with laboratory information systems and working with cross-functional teams
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience preparing for or leading NYSDOH or CAP audits
- Knowledge of Epic Beaker, SoftLab, or Novius LIS platforms
- Strong training and mentorship experience across clinical departments
