Job summary

The University of Kentucky CAP-Accredited Laboratory is seeking a Laboratory Scientist to process and work up blood cultures and other cultures on multiple shifts. The role supports services across the Level I trauma center and affiliated centers, including transplant programs and KY Children's Hospital.

The position also covers specimen processing, triage, order processing, rapid testing, and reporting, with duties in gram staining, molecular assays, media QC, and supply monitoring to ensure

Responsibilities

• Process and workup of blood cultures and other cultures.
• Perform specimen processing, triage, order processing, rapid and stat testing, gram staining, and reporting positive blood cultures.
• Perform multiplex and routine molecular assays and ensure media QC.
• Monitor/stock supplies and report routine cultures.
