Responsibilities

• Set up, calibrate, clean, maintain and troubleshoot lab equipment.
• Prepare and supply materials; may handle basic procurement with vendors.
• Conduct standardized tests and analyses on biological samples.
• Isolate, identify and prepare specimens for examination.
• Analyze data and write reports; contribute to grant applications and publications.
• Assist in grant processes and manuscript preparation as required.
• Maintain detailed notebooks of all activities.
• Ensure compliance with safety and SOPs; monitor laboratory operations.
• Keep up with literature and research publications relevant to the work.
• Contribute to development and improvement of standard operating procedures.
• Use computer interfaced equipment and robotics as needed.
• Assist in designing and executing advanced experiments; may set strategy.
• May examine animals/specimens to detect disease or issues.
• Monitor laboratory budgets.
