Qualifications

• Theoretical knowledge of molecular and cellular biology or closely related field.
• Working knowledge of DNA techniques.
• Lab experience with sterile techniques and mammalian cell culture.
• Knowledge of laboratory equipment and ability to learn new procedures.
• Knowledge of computer software and standard office equipment.
• Strong attention to detail and adaptability.
• Experience with bacteriology and bacterial cell competency.
• Ability to analyze data statistically.
• Experience following experimental protocols.

Responsibilities

• Under supervision, perform standard repetitive laboratory procedures including biochemistry and molecular biology assays.
• Conduct cell biology, immunohistochemistry, immunofluorescence, and immunoblotting as needed.
• Enter requests in lab ordering system and maintain lab supplies.
• Dispose biohazardous and chemical waste per EH&S guidelines.
• Assist in ongoing research projects and improve tests.
