Job summary

Scripps Research Translational Institute in La Jolla, CA is seeking a Research Assistant I to support immunology oncology studies. The role includes maintaining the flow cytometer, mouse husbandry, and assisting with molecule and cell biology experiments, including in vivo murine tumor models.

Under general supervision you will perform experiments, interpret results, troubleshoot methods, and contribute to experimental design.

Qualifications

• Requires a Bachelor's degree in biology or immunology or an equivalent field.
• Requires 1-3 years of experience; Master’s degree with 0-2 years experience acceptable.
• Experience with recombinant protein expression is required.
• Experience with cell and molecular biology is required.
• Experience with murine models and training in multi-color flow cytometry and mouse disease models are essential.

Responsibilities

• Maintain the flow cytometer and perform basic instrument care.
• Support mouse husbandry and husbandry-related tasks.
• Assist with molecule and cell biology experiments and in vivo murine tumor model studies.
• Conduct experiments, interpret results, troubleshoot methods, and contribute to experimental design.
