Job summary

The Henry M. Jackson Foundation for the Advancement of Military Medicine (HJF) seeks a Research Assistant to provide laboratory and technical support to senior staff in the Immunology Section of the US Military HIV Research Program.

Responsibilities include cell culture, molecular biology, bioassays, and data management within a collaborative team. The role emphasizes learning, organization, and attention to detail, with full training provided.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in biology or related field or equivalent
• Experience with standard laboratory techniques and documentation practices.

Responsibilities

• Perform assays including virus neutralization, molecular cloning, cell culture and ELISAs in a BSL-2 environment.
• Assist in data collection and organization of data; follow SOPs and Good Clinical/Good Laboratory practices.
• Maintain inventories and ensure proper cleanliness and sanitation of the laboratory.
• Assist in preparation of technical reports, summaries and protocols; communicate observations from experiments.
