Department: Laboratory, Work Hours: rotating shifts, weekends, and holidays as needed.

The Laboratory Processing Technician II is responsible for performing EKGs, specimen collection within the scope of training including legal specimen collection, and preparation of all specimen types. The role includes assisting with patient registration, laboratory report distribution, and other clerical duties. The technician mans and troubleshoots pre-analytical automation as assigned and provides training or orientation for internal employees and external customers. Maintaining a professional manner in all situations is essential.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent with phlebotomy or Medical Assistant training and ACT 169 clearance.
  • Successful completion of Acts 73 and/or 169 clearances within 90 days of employment, if applicable.

Preferred: A.S.C.P. certification in phlebotomy.
