A leading healthcare provider is seeking a Phlebotomist to perform routine and advanced venipuncture and facilitate specimen collection procedures. Responsibilities include preparing biological samples for various lab analyses and handling specimens. Ideal candidates should have a high school diploma and complete a phlebotomy training program or have relevant experience.
Performs routine and advanced venipuncture and other specimen collection procedures. Under direct supervision, performs routine laboratory analytical procedures related to preparing and storing human biological samples, blood, and body fluids for microbiological, hematological, immunohematological, and chemical analysis. Releases and/or places orders in hospital and laboratory computer systems, receives, processes, and distributes specimens and/or blood products. Performs various preanalytical functions including loading samples onto analyzers, preparing slides for staining, and preparing samples for transport to other laboratories.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements: High School graduate or equivalent. Requires completion of a phlebotomy training program or 6 months of recent phlebotomy experience (clinical or hospital-based preferred). In addition, one or more of the following is preferred:
Prefer GPA of 3.0 or above. Must have computer operational skills using a personal computer, laboratory system, or other hospital information system.
