Job summary

Dallas College seeks a dynamic Lab Specialist to support one of its academic Schools. The role reports to the Lab Manager and maintains supplies, equipment, and information systems while providing technical support for courses and programs.

The position emphasizes lab safety, student training, and effective collaboration with faculty to ensure a safe, well-equipped learning environment.

Qualifications

• Associate degree plus one year of related work experience and/or experience in a teaching environment.
• In lieu of associate degree, two years of related work experience may be substituted.
• Official transcripts are required.
• Some positions may require specific state licenses/certifications depending on the discipline.
• Bilingual preferred.

Responsibilities

• Daily operations and maintenance of laboratories, classrooms and equipment in support of courses.
• Promote safety through lab practices and train students on procedures and hazardous materials.
• Maintain MSDS information for chemicals and materials as required.
• Perform inventory and manage equipment, tools, materials and supplies.
• Receive, store, and issue tools and equipment for courses.
• Troubleshoot lab hardware/software issues and monitor computer labs.
