Job summary

Amazon Kuiper Manufacturing Enterprises LLC seeks a Systems Development Engineer for the Lab Operations Platform within the Amazon Leo DevOps team in Redmond. You will own software that connects lab personnel, spaces, and equipment, turning scheduling and data into trusted capacity views for leadership decisions.

You will design intuitive interfaces, build APIs, and ensure secure, traceable data while collaborating across labs and management to unify tools over time.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field; equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of professional software and systems development experience.
• Experience using analytics to present data for decision making.
• Experience designing and delivering internal tools or applications end to end.
• Experience designing data models and building APIs or data pipelines that integrate multiple source systems.
• Experience with SQL and relational or non-relational data stores.
• Experience building software for scheduling, resource allocation, inventory, or facilities workflows.
• Experience gathering requirements from non-technical users and delivering intuitive interfaces.
• Experience operating production systems, including documentation and monitoring.

Responsibilities

• Own the software systems interfacing with lab personnel, spaces, and equipment from design through operation.
• Design and build tools and dashboards that visualize capacity against demand.
• Integrate data from headcount, scheduling, Jira tickets, and equipment data into a backend model.
• Build and maintain APIs that connect Jira and in-house tools.
• Design user interfaces that non-software users can adopt with minimal training.
• Surface equipment status and availability to help plan work.
• Ensure data is stored securely, clean, and traceable.
• Navigate security reviews, data classification, and compliance requirements.
• Start with current capacity visuals and evolve to forecasting tools.
• Partner with equipment-focused teams to converge tooling into a single system.
• Operate what you build: write docs, monitor health, and drive fixes.
