Job summary

The University of Pennsylvania's School of Engineering and Applied Science seeks a Research Coordinator/Lab Manager for Pranam Chatterjee's lab in Philadelphia. You will oversee day-to-day lab operations, maintain inventories, manage calendars, and coordinate procurement and safety compliance under established protocols.

Qualifications include a Bachelor's degree and 1–2 years of relevant experience; completion of Penn lab safety and compliance training is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and 1 to 2 years of experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Will be required to complete Penn laboratory safety and research compliance training required for assigned protocols.

Responsibilities

• Manage daily lab operations, order supplies, maintain inventory and safety stock, receive shipments, and coordinate vendors and equipment service.
• Coordinate research compliance and administrative records, including required training, protocol documents, renewals, and audit-ready files.
• Support grant accounting by tracking expenses and commitments, reconciling records with departmental reports, and flagging discrepancies to the PI and business office.
• Manage the PI and lab calendars; schedule meetings, reserve rooms, prepare agendas, record action items, and follow up on deadlines.
• Prepare and file grant and administrative paperwork; maintain proposal, award, purchasing, personnel, and laboratory records.
• Assist laboratory members with wet-lab experiments under approved protocols, including reagent preparation, sample handling, routine assays, and data and record capture.
• Maintain shared SOPs, onboarding materials, contact lists, and lab records; coordinate onboarding logistics and required training.
