Job summary

St. Louis Children's Hospital is seeking a Lab Technical Coordinator to oversee the department's technical activities, including inventory, R&D, and CAP readiness.

The role involves testing and processing routine and complex specimens, serving as a resource for staff, and ensuring quality and cost-efficiency across shifts. Ideal candidates hold a Bachelor's Degree in a physical or life science and MT/MLS ASCP or equivalent certification with 2–5 years of experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in a physical, life science, or related field.
• MT/MLS ASCP or equiv certification.

Responsibilities

• Assesses workload, prioritizes work, makes staffing adjustments and assists staff when needed.
• Ensures maintenance of laboratory services and quality in accordance with prescribed standards and policies.
• Takes responsibility for the daily operations, both technically and administratively, for the shift to ensure quality services.
• Develops appropriate QA monitors with supervisor and implements processes for shift to ensure quality.
• Teaches and/or trains new and established staff members and Clinical Laboratory Scientist students in routine and specialized techniques used in the laboratory.
