Dartmouth-Hitchcock Health Laboratory is seeking a friendly, detail‑oriented Laboratory Assistant to provide exceptional customer service and administrative support. You will be the main contact for patients and providers, handle order entry and specimen receiving, and help ensure accurate specimen handling and safety compliance.

The role requires strong communication, organization, and the ability to work in a fast-paced healthcare setting.

Qualifications

• Requires a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
• Strong verbal and written communication.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Basic computer proficiency and ability to learn LIS.

Responsabilités

• Provide exceptional customer service to patients, healthcare providers, and internal departments.
• Answer incoming telephone calls and respond to inquiries or direct calls appropriately.
• Transcribe laboratory orders accurately into the Laboratory information system.
• Receive specimen drop-offs, ensuring proper identification, labeling, and documentation.
• Collaborate with laboratory personnel, registration staff, nursing units, provider offices, and other healthcare professionals.
• Maintain inventory of laboratory supplies and minimize waste.
• Follow laboratory policies, safety procedures, and regulatory requirements.
• Perform other duties to support laboratory operations.
