Job summary

NXP Semiconductors is seeking a Lab Support Technician to assist a post silicon validation lab in Austin. The role focuses on supporting engineers, managing lab assets, calibrations with third-party vendors, and completing QA related lab tasks.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in a similar lab environment, an associate degree or electronics technician training, and proficiency with spreadsheets, office software, and basic PCB rework. This is an on-site position at the Austin site.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of lab equipment and measurement tools.
  • Proficiency with spreadsheets and asset management software.
  • Experience with standard office applications.
  • Strong scheduling and time management skills.
  • Experience coordinating with vendors and third‑party services.
  • Soldering and minor PCB rework capabilities preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Support engineers in a post silicon validation lab.
  • Track assets and lab equipment; support calibration with vendors.
  • Assist with lab audits and purchasing activities.
  • Perform minor equipment repairs as needed.
  • Collaborate with on-site and remote labs.
  • Assist with shipping equipment as required.

Job description

Lab Support Technician

As part of an SoC validation team, the candidate will be required to support the operation of a validation lab. The candidate will also be expected to work effectively with various validation partners. Work will be on site at the Austin NXP site.

Job Requirements
  • Support engineers working in a post silicon validation lab.
  • Asset and lab equipment tracking, including support for equipment calibration with third party vendors.
  • Purchasing Lab audits.
  • Minor equipment repairs.
  • Working with other labs on site and remote.
  • Shipping equipment.
Skills
  • Knowledge of lab equipment.
  • Spreadsheets and asset management tools.
  • Office applications.
  • Scheduling and time management, setting priorities.
  • Vendor management.
  • Prefer soldering and minor PCB rework.
Education
  • Associates degree or Electronics Technician.
Experience
  • 5+ years.
