Responsibilities

• Plans, organizes and directs staffing, hiring, and evaluation.
• Develops and maintains department objectives and resolves operational issues.
• Ensures compliance with policies and quality assurance parameters.
• Assures proper functioning of instruments, equipment and computer systems.
• Develops and maintains Performance Improvement and quality control program.
• Ensures all laboratory testing methodologies exceed quality assurance parameters mandated by accrediting agencies.
• Prepares annual operating and capital budgets.
• Ensures efficient utilization of resources.
• Monitors, analyzes and justifies expense and revenue within departments.
• Manages laboratory operations by meeting four out of five criteria: 1) Annual Test Volume < 1,000,000; 2) Budgeted FTEs < 90; 3) Budgeted Gross Revenue < $90,000,000; 4) Budgeted Expenses < $10,000,000; 5) Unique CPT codes < 150.
• Other duties as assigned.
