Apple Inc. in Cupertino, California is seeking a Lab Manager to lead a small team of lab technicians and coordinators while also rolling up your sleeves to run experiments and support engineering programs.

You will ensure lab safety, calibrate equipment, manage daily operations and budgets, and collaborate with engineers to plan layouts and introduce new test fixtures for emerging program requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field or equivalent practical experience.
• 3+ years hands-on experience in a technical/engineering lab environment including direct test execution.
• 1+ years leading or managing a team (direct reports or informal lead role).
• Strong lab safety knowledge and regulatory compliance experience.
• Experience with equipment maintenance, calibration procedures, and asset management systems.
• Excellent organization skills balancing individual technical work with team management.
• Ability to lift/move lab equipment and on-site work five days a week.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a small team of lab technicians/coordinators.
• Set priorities, assign work, and review outputs for quality and consistency.
• Conduct performance reviews and career development discussions for direct reports.
• Foster safety, accountability, and continuous improvement in the lab.
• Operate, calibrate, and troubleshoot lab equipment for tests and experiments.
• Execute test protocols, collect data, and support engineering programs.
• Serve as escalation point for complex equipment issues.
• Design/build test fixtures and lab processes for new program needs.
• Manage daily lab operations, inventory, maintenance, calibration, and repair.
• Oversee procurement, vendor relationships, and budgeting for lab needs.
• Develop and enforce lab safety protocols in line with EHS standards.
