Job summary

OxyChem, a Berkshire Hathaway company, is seeking a Laboratory Technician to support quality control and process analysis at our Geismar, Louisiana facility. You will perform routine analyses, maintain laboratory data records, analyze raw materials and products, and troubleshoot instrumentation.

The role requires solid chemistry coursework, basic math, and the ability to work rotating shifts with safety and teamwork at the core.

Qualifications

• Associate Degree in Chemistry or related field with minimum 2 years of college chemistry courses and 1 year of college math.
• Ability to perform calculations and analyze data from lab tests.
• Ability to work rotating shifts, overtime, weekends, and holidays.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and clear written/verbal English communication.

Responsibilities

• Maintain environmental and employee safety as priority.
• Perform routine sample analyses with supervision.
• Maintain lab data records and support plant operations.
• Troubleshoot and repair lab instrumentation; coordinate with vendors.
• Prepare reagents and enter data into LIMS; support process control studies.
