in Germantown, MD is seeking a Lab Instrument Service Specialist to perform preventive maintenance, routine calibration, and performance qualification on analytical equipment, including HPLC and mass spectrometers, with minimal downtime. You will install and configure new instruments, troubleshoot issues, maintain records, and manage inventory of parts and consumables while adhering to documentation standards.
Qualifications
- Associates degree / equivalency (60+ credit hours) in related field + 2 years' experience OR Bachelor of Science in related field.
- Extensive experience with laboratory instrumentation and troubleshooting.
- Ability to operate various instrument types, including HPLCs, mass spectrometers, and automated liquid handling systems.
Responsibilities
- Perform PM on analytical instruments and establish PM programs for new equipment.
- Install and configure new analytical instrumentation and equipment, including PQ as required.
- Repair analytical instruments to minimize downtime and monitor failures for remediation.
- Develop testing procedures and strategies.
- Maintain instrument records per documentation standards.
- Maintain inventory of instrument consumables and parts.
