Job summary

The Arizona Department of Health Services is seeking a Physical Plant Supervisor 2 to oversee the State Laboratory facility at 250 N. 17th Ave., Phoenix. You will manage HVAC, electrical and mechanical systems, supervise two technicians, and ensure inspections and documentation are up to date.

This role requires coordinating with the Facilities Administrator, ensuring safety compliance, and maintaining building automation systems to support a compliant, efficient laboratory environment.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of electrical and building systems relevant to a state facility.
• Ability to monitor and improve HVAC, electrical and mechanical performance.
• Familiarity with building automation and energy management concepts.

Responsibilities

• Plan and direct daily operations for the laboratory building's MPE systems.
• Supervise two Laboratory Equipment Technicians and coordinate maintenance.
• Troubleshoot, repair, calibrate equipment and ensure code compliance.
• Maintain security systems access and after-hours procedures.
• Provide feedback to Facilities Administrator and participate in training.
