Job summary

SOCOTEC, Inc. in Dallas, TX seeks a Laboratory Manager to lead construction materials testing and geotechnical lab operations.

You will set up a new facility, supervise staff, ensure QA, safety, and productivity while aligning with ASTM, AASHTO, and TxDOT standards. You’ll manage testing workflows, generate reports, drive accreditation efforts, coordinate with field teams, and maintain equipment, SOPs, and a safe, organized lab environment.

Qualifications

• BA/BS in a related discipline (BS in civil engineering preferred) or equivalent experience.
• 5-10 years of hands-on experience performing construction materials/geotechnical laboratory testing, including leading lab staff.
• ACI and NICET certification in Construction Materials Testing; TxDOT certifications preferred and required within 1 year if not held.

Responsibilities

• Manage testing of soils, concrete, masonry, asphalt, aggregate, and geotechnical materials; review and submit results.
• Generate and compile lab reports; oversee data entry of KPIs and billing.
• Maintain QA/QMS; ensure compliance with ASTM, AASHTO, AASHTO re:source, CCRL, and company standards.
• Lead accreditation activities with AASHTO re:source and TxDOT DMS-7400; manage document control and records.
