Job summary

Openwork, on behalf of our client in The Woodlands, TX, seeks a Laboratory Data & Sample Operations Coordinator for a 6-month contract. You will oversee sample management, data verification, and LIMS administration in a high-tech chemical research environment.

The role emphasizes data integrity, QA, and coordination between bench scientists and operations, with a heavy focus on Excel documentation and SOPs. Bachelor’s in Chemistry or related field and 1–4 years of lab experience required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a scientific discipline (Chemistry/Biochemistry/Chemical Engineering or related).
• 1–4 years in a lab, QC, or lab operations environment preferred.
• Hands-on experience with LIMS or similar lab databases is preferred.
• Strong Excel and data-handling skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee incoming chemical samples, log details into the database, assign tracking labels, route samples to testing groups, and manage inventory/disposal.
• Verify analytical data for accuracy, completeness, and quality standards.
• Maintain and update LIMS records to ensure seamless tracking and reporting.
