Job summary

Valley Health System is seeking a Laboratory Courier to transport patient specimens and other healthcare materials. The courier bears responsibility for specimen integrity during transport and must understand factors affecting specimen quality.

The role involves driving to client offices, collecting specimens, and delivering them to the appropriate lab section after accessioning. Requirements include a high school diploma (preferred) and a valid, clean driver’s license with current automobile

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Valid and clean driver’s license with proof of automobile liability insurance.
• Ability to communicate verbally and maintain records.

Responsibilities

• Drive routes to client sites to pick up specimens.
• Ensure specimen integrity and timely delivery to the lab.
• Verify request slips and document daily route logs.
• Assist with processing of samples and training new couriers.
• Maintain safety procedures and adapt to changing schedules.
