Job summary

HNL Lab Medicine is seeking a dependable courier to transport lab specimens, mail, and supplies between locations. You will coordinate with the dispatcher, verify pickups, and ensure timely deliveries while maintaining vehicle safety and specimen integrity.

Practical duties include operating a vehicle, using handheld devices, and completing monthly safety training. The role emphasizes accuracy, cordial communication with clients, and adherence to company policies and turnaround times.

Qualifications

• Education/Experience: High school diploma or GED; or 1–3 months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Language Ability: Read and comprehend simple English.
• Write simple correspondence in English.
• Present information to customers and colleagues in a clear manner.
• Math: basic operations including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
• Licensing: Valid driver's license; MVR checked annually.

Responsibilities

• Transports supplies, mail, and clinical lab specimens to and from designated locations.
• Coordinates activities and assignments with dispatcher.
• Notifies Manager or designee of any issues that may affect daily schedule.
• Verifies daily pickups and deliveries according to established policies and procedures.
• Operates the vehicle in a safe manner and always wears a seatbelt.
• Alerts leadership team of any issues that may impair vehicle performance.
• Performs duties independently with little direct supervision; offers to help when needed.
• Maintains the integrity of HNL Lab Medicine vehicles by sanitizing and vacuuming the interior regularly.
• Uses hand-held devices, computers, tablets and different apps/software programs.
• Completes monthly driver safety modules as assigned.
