Job summary

Barnes Jewish Hospital is seeking a Lab Courier to support patient care and laboratory operations. This full-time position offers day shift hours from 7:00 am to 3:30 pm, Monday through Friday with rotating weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities include non-blood and blood specimen collection, specimen handling and processing, coordination with lab and clinical teams, and ensuring accurate patient identification and timely sample delivery. HS Diploma or GED required.

• Performs non-blood and blood specimen collection as part of lab operations.

Responsibilities

• Perform phlebotomy, positive patient identification, and positive patient interaction, proper collection and specimen integrity.
• Coordinates a simultaneous series of tasks accurately, including STAT orders and fluctuation in workload, prioritizing work to complete within scheduled hours and established turnaround times.
• Interacts with lab, clinical and other ancillary departments.
