Job summary

Clinical Reference Laboratory in Lenexa, KS, is seeking a laboratory technician to perform sample preparation and data review in a high‑throughput setting. You will follow SOPs, maintain chain of custody, and operate LC-MS/MS and GC-FID instruments with precision.

The role requires strong attention to detail, good communication, and adherence to safety regulations. Weekend and overtime may be required as part of rotating shifts in a clinical lab environment.

Qualifications

• Degree in medical technology or related science as required or equivalent (high school diploma with appropriate training).
• Experience with moderate/high complexity testing and laboratory safety standards.
• Ability to operate and maintain analytical instrumentation used in the lab.

Responsibilities

• Receive and prepare samples for instrumentation.
• Maintain chain of custody throughout processing.
• Read and follow laboratory SOPs to ensure accuracy.
• Operate, monitor, and document on instrumentation (LC-MS/MS, GC-FID, Q-TOF).
• Balance instrument load to maximize production and maintain quality.
