Job summary

Castle Biosciences in Phoenix, AZ seeks a Clinical Research Scientist to lead assay development, validation, and implementation in a high‑complexity clinical laboratory. Qualifications

• Bachelor's in Life Science, Biology, or Clinical Laboratory Science with 4–7 years' research/development, or Master's with 3–5 years, or Ph.D. with 1–2 years.
• Demonstrated technical proficiency, scientific creativity, collaboration, and independent thought.
• Minimum 4 years laboratory experience in high‑complexity testing plus QA training or 2 years clinical QA experience.
• Experience with molecular techniques, digital imaging, multiplex immunolabeling, digital pathology, image analysis or processing, bioinformatics.

Clinical Research Scientist

Position: Clinical Research Scientist working from laboratory in Phoenix, AZ. Start date on or before June 30, 2026.

Responsibilities

Responsible for leading assay development, validation, and implementation within a high‑complexity clinical laboratory environment. Expertise in molecular techniques, quality assurance, SOP development, instrument verification, and CLIA/CAP compliance is required. Drive data analysis, workflow optimization, and troubleshooting while partnering cross‑functionally to support clinical research and lab operations. Key responsibilities include: lead assay development, validation, and implementation; oversee sample analysis; ensure QA and regulatory compliance (CLIA/CAP); support lab operations through SOPs, instrument verification, and technical leadership.
