Job summary

Clean Harbors in Clive, Utah is seeking a Lab Chemist I to perform routine chemical and physical analyses of samples, following established procedures to support laboratory operations. You will work under supervision to ensure accurate, efficient results in a safe, QA/QC compliant environment.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or a related field, 0–3 years of lab experience, and DOT/OSHA training. Schedule is 40 hr/wk (4x10 hr). Pay range is $18–$24 per hour.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or related scientific discipline.
• 0–3 years of relevant laboratory experience.
• Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered.

Responsibilities

• Perform basic chemical and physical analyses in accordance with prescribed procedures.
• Calibrate, operate, and utilize basic laboratory instrumentation.
• Maintain calibration/run logs and analytical records in a neat, timely manner.
• Ensure QA/QC compliance and regulatory requirements.
• Manage laboratory supplies and inventory control.
• Dispose of waste per company and regulatory standards.
• Maintain a safe working environment per OSHA and company protocols.
• Work under supervision of senior laboratory staff.
• Review SOPs annually and pass required SOP quizzes.
• Adhere to all Clean Harbors policies and SOPs.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
