Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• 0-1 years related work experience required.
• Ability to work well as part of a team and follow detailed instruction with minimal supervision.
• Must be able to work under odors, heat, humidity.
• Must be able to routinely lift weights of 50lbs.
• Basic familiarity with computers; navigate basic web-based applications.

Responsibilities

• Processes all animal cage components and related equipment through mechanical cage, bottle, rack or tunnel washers.
• Ensures proper sanitation using temperature assurance indicators and reports any failures to the Supervisor.
• Processes waste bedding material using disposal units; wears PPE when handling waste bedding.
• Operates mechanical cage wash units per SOPs and manufacturer instructions; reports deficiencies to Supervisor.
• Stages cage components with bedding and enrichment material; maintains equipment in good condition and reports deficits.
• Operates steam autoclaves to sterilize equipment; uses cycle assurance indicators and records results.
• Records all results on the Autoclave Assurance Log and reports failures to Supervisor.
