The Role:

Our site in Billerica, MA is seeking a Lab Automation & AI Engineering Co-Op to join our team for the Spring 2027 season. This assignment is intended to be 6 months in duration. This is a hands-on opportunity to apply coding and AI skills to real laboratory challenges - helping automate manual workflows, streamline data handling, and prototype AI-assisted tools that improve lab efficiency and data quality. You will work alongside lab managers, scientists, and analysts to understand real lab processes and build practical, reliable tools that make everyday lab work faster and more consistent. This is a great fit for a student who enjoys working at the intersection of science, data, and automation.

What You'll Do:

• Support automation of manual lab workflows such as data processing, QC review, and report generation.
• Develop and test Python scripts or tools for data analysis, cleanup, and automation.

What We Seek:

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, or a related field.
• Coding ability in Python (or similar) for data analysis or automation.
• Familiarity with structured data (Excel, CSV, databases).
• Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and eagerness to learn lab workflows.
• Ability to work onsite in Billerica, MA for the full Spring term.
• Exposure to AI tools, large language models, or AI agent frameworks.
• Interest in or coursework related to laboratory operations, analytical chemistry, or QA.
• Experience with APIs, data pipelines, or workflow automation.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work with non-technical users.

Desired Major(s) & Graduation Year:

Bachelor's or Master's in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, or a related field Graduate in Spring 2027 or Spring 2028

Eligibility:

• Must be a currently enrolled student
• Available to work 40 hours a week, M-F (8a-5p) beginning in January through June
• Must be familiar with the university’s requirements to participate in a co-op program
• Entegris is not currently hiring candidates for co-ops/internships who will need, now or at any time in the future, Entegris sponsorship through the H1-B lottery.

Compensation: $20-$30/hour range with actual pay dependent on candidate overall skills for the role
