Job summary

BJC HealthCare's Barnes-Jewish St. Peters Hospital Laboratory is seeking a Lab Associate II to support specimen processing, clerical tasks and phlebotomy as needed. The role is located on the hospital campus in a Medical Office Building suite with BJCMG and outpatient care collaboration.

Ideal candidates will have phlebotomy experience and a high school diploma, with preferred associates degree and 2-5 years of related work. The schedule is 40 hours weekly, Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Experience in phlebotomy preferred; may assist with in-office phlebotomy.
• Associate's Degree preferred for advancement.

Responsibilities

• Interpret physician orders and order tests in the appropriate system.
• Perform phlebotomy with proper patient identification and sample integrity.
• Sort and process specimens and manage workflow to meet turnaround times.
• Assist with registration, inventory maintenance, or other duties as assigned.
