Additional Information About the Role

BJC Health Institute has a part-time Lab Associate II position opportunity to work every other weekend in the Blood Bank. Great for an experienced lab associate with customer service skills and processing experience. NO PHLEBOTOMY DUTIES

• Alternating weekend (every other weekend) 8 or 10 hours (2300-730 or 2200-830)

Preferred Qualifications

Role Purpose: Perform specimen collection, handling, and clerical duties. Experienced in phlebotomy and proficient in additional tasks such as central processing, in-office phlebotomy, or inventory management.

Responsibilities

• Interpret physician orders and order tests appropriately.
• Perform phlebotomy, ensure positive patient identification, and handle specimens properly. May work in outpatient labs, physician offices, or off-campus centers.
• Sort and process specimens received by the laboratory.
• Coordinate tasks accurately, including STAT orders, prioritizing work to meet turnaround times.
• May perform registration, inventory maintenance, and other duties as assigned.
