Additional Information About the Role

Alton Memorial Hospital has a part-time Nights Lab Associate I opportunity. We are looking for a lab technician with phlebotomy experience to work in a hospital setting. Hours are from 10pm to 6am, including every other weekend and rotating holidays.

Overview

Since 1937, Alton Memorial Hospital has cared for residents in Alton, Illinois, and surrounding communities across five counties. Originally a land gift from the Smith family, it is now a full-service acute care hospital offering inpatient and outpatient services such as surgery, medical imaging, heart care, cancer treatment, rehabilitation, 24-hour emergency services, ambulance services, and more.

Preferred Qualifications

Role Purpose

Performs non-blood and blood specimen collection, specimen handling/routine processing, and clerical duties related to specimen collection.

Responsibilities

1. Perform phlebotomy, ensure positive patient identification, engage positively with patients, and maintain specimen integrity.
2. Manage multiple tasks simultaneously, including STAT orders and workload fluctuations, prioritizing to meet scheduled hours and turnaround times.
3. Coordinate and communicate with lab, clinical, and other ancillary departments.
