Job summary

Union Health Regional Hospital in Terre Haute, IN, is seeking a Laboratory Assistant to join our Lab Services team. You will perform a wide range of tests, including CLIA waived and moderate complexity, using automated, semi-automated, and manual systems.

You will handle diverse specimens, maintain quality control, calibrate instruments, and assist in training new staff while protecting patient confidentiality and contributing to continuous education and high-quality patient care.

Qualifications

• Follows Lab and Medical Group policies under manager's supervision for accurate testing and reporting of laboratory results.
• Performs a wide range of laboratory tests, including CLIA waived and moderate complexity tests, utilizing automated, semi-automated, and manual systems.

Responsibilities

• Handles diverse specimen types, including blood, urine, CSF, and body fluids, with careful evaluation and preparation.
• Maintains quality control, calibrates instruments, troubleshoots equipment, and ensures adherence to laboratory regulations.
• Assists in training new staff, maintains patient confidentiality, participates in problem-solving, and engages in continuous education, while proficiently collecting blood specimens and performing related duties.
