Bon Secours Mercy Health is seeking a Lab Assistant to perform phlebotomy and specimen collection using LIS/HIS systems, ensuring accurate specimen registration and order entry. Responsibilities include processing specimens, accessioning, centrifuging, generating reports, registering patients, and providing basic customer service; phlebotomy duties may be required in Microbiology.
Education: High School/GED; Phlebotomy certification preferred; 1 year phlebotomy experience preferred.
The Lab Assistant performs phlebotomy and specimen collection. They use Lab Information System (LIS) and Hospital Information System (HIS) to conduct functions related to phlebotomy, patient registration, order entry, result look-up and report generation. They process specimens for diagnostic testing and referral testing and sort specimen drop-offs according to insurance. They ensure accurate registration of specimens as needed.
