Job description

Lab Assistant (Specimen Technician II) Part-Time

Location: Nashville, TN

Schedule: Monday, Wednesday, and Friday 8:30AM-4:30PM (Rotational Saturday)

Pay Range: $17.75 per hour

Salary offers are based on relevant skills, training, experience, education, certifications, and market factors. Successful candidates may be eligible for annual performance bonuses.

Responsibilities include:

  • All duties of the Specimen Preparation Assistant
  • Learning job duties and understanding specimen processing functions
  • Identifying problems with specimens and resolving or assigning TIQ
  • Understanding compliance policies related to test ordering
  • Meeting production and accuracy standards within 6 months
  • Understanding test-specimen relationships
  • Completing documentation accurately and timely
  • Maintaining punctuality and attendance
  • Learning additional functions for progression
  • Performing other duties as assigned
  • Handling multiple tasks in a production environment
  • Communicating effectively and maintaining composure under pressure
  • Adhering to safety, compliance policies, and maintaining a clean work area

Qualifications:

  • Required: Data background
  • Preferred: Medical background and experience in production environments

Physical and Mental Requirements: Ability to sit or stand for long periods.

Skills:

  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Flexibility and adaptability
  • Ability to enter 6000 keystrokes/hour

Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent

Language: Effective communication in English required
