Job summary

Labcorp is seeking a Lab Assistant to join our team in Mobile, AL. The role involves receiving and sorting clinical lab specimens, preparing specimens for testing, and performing data entry for patient information.

You will also help maintain equipment and follow SOPs to ensure safety and quality. The position requires a high school diploma or GED, with preferred candidates having 3 months of specimen processing or lab experience.

Qualifications

• Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma or GED.
• Preferred Qualifications: 3 months or more of specimen processing experience.
• 3 months or more of medical or laboratory experience.

Responsibilities

• Receive and sort clinical lab specimens.
• Prepare specimens for testing and analysis.
• Scan and/or data entry of specimen and patient information.
• Ensure all lab equipment is working properly and perform minor instrumentation maintenance.
• Troubleshoot any specimen related issues.
• Replenish test bench supplies as needed.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
• Complete record logs and other administrative duties as requested.
• Follow all Standard Operating Procedures to ensure safety and quality standards.
