Job Summary: Collects venous and capillary blood from inpatients and outpatients on site and off site. Processes specimens to be sent to reference labs. Cleans and stocks pick-up carts and trays. Orders lab tests in the computer. Receives laboratory specimens.
Job Responsibilities
- Demonstrates specific specimen collection skills as listed and in accordance with the laboratory assistant manual.
- Demonstrates specific specimen processing skills as listed and in accordance with the laboratory assistant manual.
- Demonstrates specific laboratory outpatient skills as listed and in accordance with the laboratory assistant manual.
- Represents the department in a professional manner.

Education and Other Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Certification/Licensure: BLS.
Experience Requirements
- Paramedical training preferred.
