Job Summary:

The Laboratory Department seeks a Phlebotomist to join our team. Responsibilities include drawing blood samples, preparing specimens for lab testing, and performing clerical duties such as order entry, result look-up, report generation, and answering calls efficiently.

Essential Functions:

• Provide excellent customer service by greeting patients and community members respectfully.
• Collect specimens following established procedures and ensure proper processing.
• Accurately identify patients and match their identity with the correct service for safety.
• Perform data entry, label specimens, centrifuge, split, and freeze samples as per test orders.
• Handle clerical tasks like checking inventory, stocking supplies, and answering phones.
• Troubleshoot and resolve problems promptly.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Education:

• High School Degree or GED required.

Licensure/Certification:

• Phlebotomist Certification preferred but not required.

Experience:

• One-year phlebotomy experience preferred but not required.
• Customer service experience in retail or service environment preferred.

Skills & Abilities:

• Ability to produce quality, error-free work in a fast-paced environment.
• Engage professionally with staff and patients.
• Must be willing to travel to off-site locations.
