Mercy Health is seeking a Lab Assistant/Phlebotomist for their Lorain Hospital. The role involves performing phlebotomy, specimen collection, and utilizing hospital systems for patient registration and report generation. The position requires rotating weekend and holiday availability. Ideal candidates will have a High School diploma and preferred phlebotomy certification, along with strong communication and organizational skills.

Shift/Schedule:
The Lab Assistant performs phlebotomy and specimen collection, utilizing Lab Information System (LIS) and Hospital Information System (HIS) for various functions such as patient registration, order entry, result look-up, and report generation. They process specimens for diagnostic and referral testing, sort specimen drop-offs according to insurance, and ensure accurate registration of specimens.
Licensing/Certification: Phlebotomy Certification preferred
Education: High School/GED required
Work Experience: 1 year phlebotomy experience preferred
Training: Basic phlebotomy training preferred
*Universal precautions, PPE, and infection control policies are mandatory.
