Job summary

Fitzgibbon Hospital in Marshall, MO is seeking a dedicated Lab Assistant to join its Laboratory team. You will collect urine drug screenings, process specimens, place computer orders, and handle report distribution and telephone communications.

The role offers a full-time schedule (Mon-Fri, 9:00am–5:30pm) with opportunities for training in phlebotomy and equipment maintenance. We value compassion, accuracy, and reliable customer service in a crucial community hospital setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Customer service skills.
• Good computer skills.
• Excellent phone etiquette.
• Phlebotomy experience/certification preferred (training available).

Responsibilities

• Collects urine drug screenings.

As a non-profit community hospital, Fitzgibbon Hospital is vital to the health and well-being of the communities it serves in the Marshall, MO and surrounding area. We are looking for a self-driven compassionate Lab Assistant to join our Laboratory team.

A Lab Assistant:

• Collects urine drug screenings
• Processes specimen
• Places computer orders
• Distributes and faxes reports
• Answers and transfers phone calls
• Monitors and orders supplies
• Completes specific daily maintenance and documentation within the lab

Shift:

• Full-time (80 hours every two weeks)
• M-F 9am - 5:30pm - (Days)

Required Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Customer service skills
• Good computer skills
• Excellent phone etiquette
• High school diploma or equivalent

Preferred Qualifications:

• Phlebotomy experience/certification (the right candidate can be trained)
• Experience in blood collection (including neonatal)
