Job summary

Labcorp is seeking a part-time Lab Assistant to join our team at 5700 172nd St, Arlington, WA. The schedule is Monday to Friday, 5:15am - 9:15am, performing specimen handling, processing, data entry, and equipment checks in a fast-paced laboratory setting.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or equivalent and may have 6+ months in hospital or lab specimen processing. Pay ranges from $17.75 to $26.12 per hour with comprehensive benefits for eligible employees.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 6 months+ hospital or lab specimen processing preferred.
• Willing to perform urine specimen collections as needed.
• Strong attention to detail and data entry skills.
• Must pass a standardized color blindness test.

Responsibilities

• Receive and sort clinical lab specimens.
• Prepare specimens for testing and analysis.
• Scan and/or data entry of specimen and patient information.
• Ensure lab equipment is functioning and perform minor maintenance.
• Troubleshoot specimen-related issues.
• Replenish test bench supplies as needed.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
• Complete record logs and other admin duties.

Work Schedule:

Monday to Friday, 5:15am - 9:15am

Job Responsibilities:

• Receive and sort clinical lab specimens
• Prepare specimens for testing and analysis
• Scan and/or data entry of specimen and patient information
• Ensure all lab equipment is working properly and perform minor instrumentation maintenance
• Troubleshoot any specimen related issues
• Replenish test bench supplies as needed
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment
• Complete record logs and other administrative duties as requested
• Follow all Standard Operating Procedures to ensure safety and quality standards

Minimum Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent

Preferred Qualifications:

• 6 months or more hospital or lab specimen processing

Additional Job Standards:

• Seeking phlebotomy candidate who identifies as female to conduct direct observation urine specimen collections on female patient-donors.
• Comfortable handling biological specimens
• Ability to accurately identify specimens
• Basic computer knowledge and data entry skills
• High level of attention to detail with the ability to prioritize and multitask
• Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment and meet established turn-around times
• Ability to sit and/or stand for extended periods of time
• Able to pass a standardized color blindness test.
• Flexibility to work overtime as needed

• Strong communication skills; both written and verbal
• Ability to work independently or in a team environment
• Comfortable working under minimal supervision

We are currently seeking a Lab Assistant to work in a Client Office. In this role you will provide exceptional customer service, perform skilled specimen collections and be the face of the company. In addition, you will be provided opportunities for continuous growth within the organization.

Pay Range: $17.75 to $26.12 per hour

All job offers will be based on a candidate’s skills and prior relevant experience, applicable degrees/certifications, as well as internal equity and market data.
