Job summary

MaineGeneral Health is seeking enthusiastic Lab Assistants to join our microbiology team on a per diem basis for weekend and as-needed coverage. This role is ideal for students pursuing degrees in medical lab sciences or related fields who want hands-on experience while maintaining a flexible schedule.

As a member of the microbiology lab, you will assist in routine tests, prepare reagents, maintain safety standards, and document results in the LIS.

• Currently enrolled in or have completed a degree program in biological sciences, microbiology, or a related field preferred.
• Basic understanding of microbiological principles and laboratory techniques.

• Collect, label, and process biological samples using established techniques and protocols.

• Assist in documenting and recording test results in the laboratory information system.
• Maintain a clean and organized laboratory workspace, adhering to all safety and compliance regulations.

Compensation Information

$18.90 - $33.08 The hourly pay range shown represents the base pay range for this position. Individual pay is determined based on factors such as experience, qualifications, skills, and market considerations. In addition to base pay, eligible team members may earn additional compensation through shift, weekend, holiday, on-call, and other applicable differentials.
