• Must understand written instructions and accurately transmit information.

Responsibilities

• Notifies departments of problem resolutions pertaining to specimen discrepancies.
• Follows safety procedures to reduce exposure risk.
• Retrieves samples from processing and delivers to testing departments.
• Maintains inventory, logs items, checks expirations, and logs media/reagents.
• Answers phone calls and notifies leadership of issues.
• Supports testing operations and tracks pending samples.
• Performs daily system checks (water systems, etc.).
• Escalates deviations to leadership when systems fail.
• Provides proficiency testing support and paperwork.
• Verifies QC of pipettes, timers, balances, and lab equipment.
• Refs unresolved problems to MT/supervisor for help.
• Loads samples onto lab automation systems.
• Suggests process improvements to increase efficiency and reduce costs.
• Monitors reagent inventories and reorders as needed.
