Job description

The hours of this position is M-F: 10am-6:30pm

Lab Assistant

Our Lab Assistant is primarily responsible for assisting with the day-to-day laboratory production activities, which include but is not limited to distillation and extraction tasks, infused concentrate formulation and dispensing, edible base formulation, and HPLC and GCMS testing at the direction of the Assistant General Manager. The Lab Assistant will be responsible for maintaining adequate operational procedures and contributing in a support role to ensuring seamless lab operation and increased efficiency.

Your role in caring for our plants:

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Daily product preparation including preparing equipment and plant materials for extraction
  • Consistently monitors active equipment, performs minor repairs, and reports equipment irregularities to Assistant General Manager
  • Operates machinery in accordance with all operational and safety guidelines
  • Takes instruction and helps on all tasks assigned by Assistant General Manager
  • Assists with ethanol, butane and solventless extraction
  • Assists with potency and terpene testing using HPLC and GCMS machines
  • Assists with infused concentrate formulation and dispensing
  • Assists with infused edible base formulation
  • Accurately performs tasks related to weighing, liquid handling, and pipetting
  • Cleans and maintains laboratory, glassware, and other equipment
  • General manual labor tasks including loading, unloading, lifting, and moving materials
  • Assists in the disposal of waste according to established guidelines
  • Support packaging process including but not limited to verifying correct weight, detecting visual defects, applying all necessary labels, and counting completed units into predetermined case pack sizes
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications we ask you to have:

  • For legal reasons, all employees need to be at least 21 years of age.
  • You will be asked to pass a Federal and State criminal history background check.
  • We ask that you have at least a high school degree.
  • We ask that you have basic computer skills.
  • General lab experience preferred
  • Pipetting experience preferred.

  • This position requires an inordinate amount of sitting, walking, kneeling, bending, twisting and reaching in full range of motion to complete physical tasks
  • You will be asked to carry/lift loads of up to 50lbs, often times repeatedly, throughout the day.
  • This position requires standing, stooping, squatting, or crouching for more than 4 hours sequentially.
  • This position requires the extended and repetitive use of arms, hands and fingers to cut and manipulate small objects.
  • As this position will mainly be working in the greenhouse, we ask that you be willing and able to work in an environment with high light and heat levels.
