AdventHealth in Sebring, FL is seeking a laboratory support professional to perform phlebotomy, specimen handling, and related duties in a full-time role. The position involves processing blood specimens, assisting with testing workflows, and ensuring safety and compliance in a clinical laboratory environment.

Responsibilities include collecting specimens, assisting with point-of-care testing, and supporting departmental operations while adhering to established safety policies and infection

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Technical or vocational schooling preferred.
• Completion of a phlebotomy training program.
• Experience with phlebotomy and blood draws preferred.
• Ability to read English and follow safety policies.

Responsibilities

• Perform cytopreparatory staining and set up primary specimen cultures as directed.
• Receive, process, and transport patient specimens to the testing department.
• Maintain inventory, disinfect equipment, and ensure safety and PPE compliance.
• Support education for clinical staff and resolve customer service issues within guidelines.
• Assist with point-of-care testing, quality control, and result reporting as needed.
• Contribute to performance improvement activities and evaluate new equipment.
