Job summary

Labcorp seeks a Technologist in Tulsa, OK, working M-F 8am-5:00pm in the Oncology Clinic. The role emphasizes accurate specimen evaluation, routine and complex testing per SOPs, and instrumentation troubleshooting to ensure reliable patient results.

The candidate should have a science degree and/or MLS, with testing experience. Strong attention to detail, teamwork, and flexibility for overtime are valued in this supported clinical setting.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemical/Biological Science, Clinical Laboratory Science, or Medical Technology or MLS degree.
  • 1+ year of clinical laboratory testing experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Determine the acceptability of specimens for testing according to established criteria.
  • Perform routine and complex technical procedures and functions according to SOPs.
  • Monitor, operate and troubleshoot instrumentation for proper functionality.
  • Make technical decisions regarding testing and problem solving.
  • Prepare, test and evaluate new reagents or controls.
  • Report accurate test results to support quality patient care.
  • Maintain quality controls and preventive maintenance.
  • Identify and replenish testing bench supplies as necessary.
  • Assist with processing of specimens when needed.
  • Maintain a safe work environment and wear PPE.

Job Responsibilities
  • Determine the acceptability of specimens for testing according to established criteria
  • Perform routine and complex technical procedures and functions according to departmental Standard Operating Procedures
  • Monitor, operate and troubleshoot instrumentation to ensure proper functionality
  • Demonstrate the ability to make technical decisions regarding testing and problem solving
  • Prepare, test and evaluate new reagents or controls
  • Report accurate and timely test results in order to deliver quality patient care
  • Perform and document preventative maintenance and quality control procedures
  • Identify and replenish testing bench supplies as necessary
  • Assist with processing of specimens when needed
  • Maintain a safe work environment and wear appropriate personal protective equipment
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in a Chemical or Biological Science, Clinical Laboratory Science, or Medical Technology 1 year or more of clinical laboratory testing experience OR an MLS degree
Preferred Qualification
  • Current or prior Labcorp experience ASCP or AMT certification 6 months or more of blood drawing experience
Additional Job Standards
  • Proficient with computers
  • Familiarity with laboratory information systems
  • Ability to work independently and within a team environment
  • High level of attention to detail along with strong communication and organizational skills
  • Able to pass a standardized color blindness test
  • Flexibility to work overtime or other shifts depending on business needs

  • Employees regularly scheduled to work less than 20 hours, Casual, Intern, and Temporary employees are only eligible to participate in the 401(k) Plan.
  • Employees who are regularly scheduled to work a 7 on/7 off schedule are eligible to receive all the foregoing benefits except PTO or FTO.
