Baylor St. Luke’s Medical Center is seeking a Lab Assistant in Houston, TX to support diagnostic workflows by accurately collecting, preparing, and processing patient specimens for a range of tests.

You will work with our advanced technology to ensure specimen integrity and timely delivery to testing departments. You should have a foundational knowledge of lab procedures, meticulous attention to detail, and a commitment to continuous learning and patient care.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Basic Life Support - CPR certification within 90 days of hire.
• Phlebotomy program or lab assistant certification preferred.

Responsabilités

• Collect, prepare, and process a variety of patient specimens (blood, urine, tissue) for diagnostic tests.
• Ensure proper patient identification and maintain specimen integrity.
• Move processed samples to respective lab departments promptly to support testing workflows.
• Handle laboratory send-out testing, including packing lists and packaging for external labs.
