Job description

Work Schedule: 100% FTE, day/evening shift, Monday - Friday 8:45AM - 5:15PM. No weekends or holidays required. Location: 333 East Campus Mall, Madison, WI. Hours may vary based on department needs.

Pay: Eligible for up to a $2,500 sign-on bonus for external hires.

We are seeking a Lab Assistant to:

• Perform standardized and specialized phlebotomy on patients of all ages, ensuring proper identification and specimen labeling.
• Handle specimen receiving, processing, instrument loading, testing, and maintenance, along with clerical duties such as filing, mailing, and faxing.
• Manage patient check-in and order entry of laboratory tests in the LIS.
• Interact daily with pathologists, physicians, technologists, clinical staff, nursing personnel, and patients.

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Completion of accredited Phlebotomy Training program with clinical rotation.

Work Experience:

• Minimum 6 months in Phlebotomy and specimen processing required.
• Preferred: 1 year of phlebotomy and processing experience.

Licenses & Certifications:

• Phlebotomist (ASCP) or equivalent preferred.
• MLA certification preferred.
