Job summary

The State of Georgia is seeking a part-time Lab Assistant for the Cardiovascular Technology program. The role supports instructors during cardiovascular labs, prepares and maintains lab spaces and equipment, and assists students under faculty direction.

Minimum qualifications include an associate’s degree in Cardiovascular Technology or a related field, with knowledge of cardiovascular procedures and terminology.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated knowledge of cardiovascular procedures, equipment, and terminology.
  • Ability to work effectively with students, faculty, and staff in an educational environment.

Responsibilities

  • Assist instructors during cardiovascular laboratory sessions and clinical simulations.
  • Prepare lab spaces prior to instruction, including setup of cardiovascular equipment, supplies, and instructional materials.
  • Maintain, clean, and properly store cardiovascular lab equipment according to safety and program standards.
  • Provide guidance to students during lab activities under the direction of faculty.
  • Monitor lab sessions to ensure compliance with safety protocols and institutional policies.
  • Assist with inventory management, including tracking, stocking, and ordering lab supplies as needed.
  • Support documentation and recordkeeping related to lab activities and equipment usage.
  • Report equipment malfunctions or safety concerns to faculty or program leadership.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned to support the Cardiovascular Technology program.

Job Description:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Associate’s degree in Cardiovascular Technology or a closely related field from an accredited institution.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of cardiovascular procedures, equipment, and terminology.
  • Ability to work effectively with students, faculty, and staff in an educational environment.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Clinical or laboratory experience in a cardiovascular setting.
  • Experience working in an academic or technical college environment.
  • Current professional certification (e.g., RCS, RCIS, or equivalent), if applicable.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Assist instructors during cardiovascular laboratory sessions and clinical simulations.
  • Prepare lab spaces prior to instruction, including setup of cardiovascular equipment, supplies, and instructional materials.
  • Maintain, clean, and properly store cardiovascular lab equipment according to safety and program standards.
  • Provide guidance to students during lab activities under the direction of faculty.

SALARY:

This is a part-time position without insurance benefits; work hours will not exceed 29 per week. Hourly rate is commensurate with education and work experience.
