Job summary

Glatt Group in New Jersey is seeking a Lab Assistant to support analytical laboratory operations, perform tests, prepare samples, and document results in compliance with GMP standards.

You will coordinate samples with external labs and vendors, manage inventory, maintain notebooks, and assist in stability programs while ensuring data integrity and safety in a GMP environment.

Qualifications

  • Experience in the Pharmaceutical or Food industry.
  • Must be able to document work neatly and accurately.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinates samples sent to outside testing laboratories, turnaround times, and shipping samples.
  • Distributes samples to personnel within the Quality Control lab.
  • Assists in running the stability programs by receiving and logging samples, loading, and pulling samples according to the pull list.
  • Maintains stability chamber inventory and performs manual daily stability chamber checks.
  • Maintains laboratory consumables inventory including reagent chemicals and solvents, disposable plastic ware, glassware, HPLC vials, and any other routine use consumables. Maintains the laboratory stockroom. Maintains laboratory glass washers.
  • Maintains an inventory of retain samples in support of customer and internally developed products as required to support regulatory submissions.
  • Maintains the laboratory analytical notebook program. Orders stock of notebooks and issues notebooks as needed. Archives notebooks and associated files as needed.
  • Maintains inventory of office supplies to support laboratory operations.
  • Performs laboratory glassware cleaning (both manual and glassware washer).
  • Laboratory waste management, broken glassware management, and lab organic waste (HPLC) management.
  • Other tasks as assigned by Management.

Lab Assistant
Accountability

The role’s primary accountability is to support laboratory operations by accurately performing tests, preparing samples, and documenting results in compliance with regulatory standards. This role ensures data integrity and contributes to maintaining a safe, GMP-compliant lab environment.

Essential Job Function

Performs tasks associated with the daily operation of the Analytical Laboratory. Interaction with vendors, contract laboratories and customers is required.

This position is classified as “safety sensitive” and is subject to random drug testing.

Qualifications and Skills
  • Must have at least one (1) year of experience in the Pharmaceutical or Food industry.
  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Biology, or a related science field preferred.

  • Maintains an inventory of retain samples in support of customer and internally developed products as required to support regulatory submissions.
  • Maintains the laboratory analytical notebook program. Orders stock of notebooks and issues notebooks as needed. Archives notebooks and associated files as needed.
  • Maintains inventory of office supplies to support laboratory operations.
  • Performs laboratory glassware cleaning (both manual and glassware washer).
  • Performs a lab walk-through and isolates expired chemicals/reagents/solvents to the designated location and prepares for disposal.
  • Laboratory waste management, broken glassware management, and lab organic waste (HPLC) management.
  • Other tasks as assigned by Management.
Salary

Starting hourly rate at $23 per hour.
